Assistant Project Manager

Summary:

Provide organized, consistent, and effective project management support to designated Project Management Team members and external clients, subcontractors and vendors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

– PM software management (Procore)

– Bid Solicitation, clarification, and organization

– Site visits as needed

– Required Document management (Safety Forms, Insurance Certificates, W9)

– Preparing subcontracts

– Managing project schedule

– Creating change orders and purchase orders

– Project document management

– Managing superintendent daily logs and weekly reports

– Submittals/Shop drawing approval and coordination

– Weekly Zoom calls with Superintendent team

– Close-out books

– Scheduling warranty work

– Other Duties as assigned

Commercial Construction Traveling Superintendent

Job Description- TerWisscha Construction, Inc. (TWC Inc.) has been providing professional services from architectural design to construction services since 1963. From assistance in site selection, project feasibility, and design options, we work with our clients to ensure that their project is accomplished in a way that is best for their business and their budget.

Summary – TWC Inc. has a full-time career opportunity as a Commercial Construction Superintendent to assist the Construction Project Team as an onsite Superintendent during the construction phase of projects across the United States.

Education

  • Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Studies specifications to plan procedures for construction on basis of starting and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction.
  • Orders procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules.
  • Confers with and directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays
  • Confers with supervisory personnel and labor representatives to resolve complaints and grievances within work force
  • Confers with supervisory and engineering personnel and inspectors and suppliers of tools and materials to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.
  • Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules
  • Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports. Directs workers concerned with major maintenance or reconditioning projects for existing installations.
  • Other duties may be assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises all subcontractors on the job, carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

Commercial Construction Carpenter

View Position Details

Job Summary:  The Construction Carpenter will build, erect, install, and repair forms, structures, and other fixtures made from wood and other materials as needed to assist with various types of construction projects.

Department:  Superintendent

Reports to:  General Superintendent

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Measures, marks, and arranges materials to established layout based on blueprints or instructions from supervisors.
  • Cuts and shapes structures, forms, or other fixtures from wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall.
  • Uses various hand and power tools to securely build assigned projects.
  • Joins materials with the most appropriate nail, screw, staple, or adhesive.
  • Ensures the accuracy of work by checking completed projects with tools such as levels, surveying equipment, or framing squares; corrects problems as needed.
  • Creates wooden forms for pouring concrete or for tunnels, bridges, or sewer construction projects.
  • Erects and dismantles scaffolding.
  • Installs windows and doors.
  • Adheres to local building and safety codes and guidelines.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:  To perform the job successfully, an individual should possess the following qualifications:

  • Ability to understand directions and read blueprints.
  • Ability to solve mathematical problems quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to properly care for and use tools of the trade.
  • Thorough understanding of carpentry principles and methods.
  • Works well as part of a team.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have general computer knowledge

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing, climbing, bending, and kneeling.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to safely work with sharp tools or power equipment.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains.
  • Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination.

Education and Experience:

  • Successful completion of vocational school or technical college or apprenticeship program; OR at least three years of experience via on-the-job training required.

Project Manager

Summary:

The Project Manager is responsible for overall project estimating/planning, and scheduling, project cost reporting, and control. The Project Manager also provides technical direction to the on-site Superintendent while ensuring compliance with Owners Contract, Project Documents and TWC Standards.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

– Effectively communicate with project owner.

– Effectively communicate with subcontractors and suppliers, resolving issues throughout all phases of the construction process including priorities with schedule, budget, and quality standards.

– Coordinate the efforts of all parties involved in the project, which include the Owners, TWC Development Consultants, Architects, on-site Superintendent, and subcontractors.

– Monitor the progress of the construction activities with periodic on-site inspections, track potential disputes and claims, procure punch list for the project, perform yearly inspections and resolve any deficiencies

– Supervises multiple on-site Superintendent’s located across the United States.

– Accepts and instills into all projects the philosophy of Listen, Learn then Lead with Integrity

– Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management preferred; or Associates Degree from a trade school with field experience; or five to ten years’ experience with commercial construction in a management role; or combination of education and experience.

  • Assist divisions with reporting and financial administration.

  • Multi-state tax research and reporting.

  • Special projects and assignments as necessary.
